On June 11, 2005, a line formed around the Empire Pavilion at the Holiday Inn in Suffern as Mercy Ama Anim author of MRS. Doctor, signed copies of her first novel at her publication party. The night began with a red carpet entrance and ended with guest dancing the night away.

The night's entertainment included music of DJs, acknowledgments from guest, friends and dignitaries. Also there was performances from the author's students at the Little Angels Day Care Center. The children sang with great enthusiasm and gracefully performed traditional African dances.

MRS. Doctor is loosely based on the author's life before and after coming to the United States. It contains a universal theme with an intriguing African-American backdrop.
